About Us

In the beginning…

I’m a bit of a tinkerer, I love making just about anything. I started with programming from a young age and moved into electronics and robotics as I got older. When 3D printing first appeared it was a dream. And I unfortunately mean that literally… the prices of the first commercially available 3D printers were so high there was no way I was ever going to own one. But as the years went on, and the technology both advanced and became more affordable, my wonderful wife bought me my first 3D printer.

So I got a 3D printer, now what?

So my first 3D printer was a $400 TEVO Tornado, and I was in love. As I watched it printing a test print from the supplied SD card my mind exploded thinking of the endless possibilities of things I could make. Just one problem, I had absolutely no idea where to even begin. How do I make my own designs? How do I convert them to something the printer will print? And unfortunately the more I researched the more questions I had.

Another 3D printing website? Why?

Why make yet another 3D printing website? I know that people new to the 3D printing community have just as many questions as I did, and like me probably have no idea where to begin. I’ve been 3D printing for a few years now and I’ve gathered a lot of resources and information. The purpose of this site is to share everything that I’ve learned so far, and more as I continue. I’ll also be sharing resources on other sites, YouTube videos, etc. that have really helped me. I want to emphasize that I don’t consider myself an expert at all things 3D printing, I’m just an enthusiast here to share my journey.

So if you’re a beginner and don’t know where to begin, or advanced and want to see some ideas and project, come on in and have a look around. I welcome input, I encourage everyone to comment if you have questions, comments, or noticed a mistake.
